Southampton is at the centre of the Solent marine economy and edition 2 of the Southampton magazine focuses on Southampton’s central role in the marine sector - one of the most important commercial, research and innovation clusters in the world.

The magazine has been produced by the City Council and our partners and city’s stakeholders are invited to use the magazine to ensure the local, regional, national and international inward investment and business markets are aware of the exciting current and future investment and business opportunities and how the city is taking full advantage of its maritime location by opening its waterfront to almost £1 billion of new development which will link the waterfront to the city.

Businesses and organisations such as the National Oceanography Centre, Marine Skills Centre, Southampton Solent University, Morgan Sindall Investments Ltd, Red Funnel and the University of Southampton have contributed to the magazine helping reinforce the city’s international reputation within the sector.
