The Seafarers Centre Charity Dinner 2012

As Patron of the Seafarers Centre Southampton I hope that you will not object to me writing to you directly once again advising you of the forthcoming Seafarers Charity Dinner which you kindly attended in 2011.

The Seafarers, an International Charity, has existed solely from fundraising and charitable donations for over 100 years. The Centre is able to relieve the loneliness, isolation and sometimes distress encountered by individual seafaring crew and we can assist them if they require help from one or more of our services as a result of the charity.

In the past I have arranged many charitable events to raise additional funds for the Seafarers Centres on a limited basis.  However, in 2011 I undertook a more adventurous event in order to highlight and show appreciation to those individuals who work tirelessly in their support for the Seafarers of all Nations.  As you are already aware I arranged a somewhat more sophisticated Seafarers Charity Dinner at The De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton which was a resounding success.  As a result I am arranging a similar event at the same venue on Friday 2nd March 2012.

The evening will commence with Champagne upon arrival followed by a superb set 3 course dinner with half a bottle of wine per person (a bottle of wine per couple either red or white).  With the assistance of the hotel I am delighted to be able to inform you that it has been possible to retain the ticket price of £55.00. The evening’s entertainment is provided by one of the finest Tribute acts in the UK being a Tribute to Michael Jackson by Navi.   I have had the pleasure of watching this act already on 3 separate occasions, and I can assure any guest that by the end of the evening they will feel that they have attended “A Michael Jackson concert”.

There will be a raffle with the star prize being a cruise kindly donated by Fred Olsen Cruises plus additional high quality raffle prizes.  Only those guests attending the function on the night will be able to participate, with all the proceeds from the raffle going direct to the Charity. 

Tables of 10 will be available, and if required hotel accommodation at a special rate of £79.00 per room inclusive of full English breakfast and VAT.     Certain guests attending last years function has already paid their deposit to secure their table for this year’s charity event.  Therefore, spaces are now limited and I will have to accept any bookings on a first come first served basis due to the fact that this event is strictly limited to 200 guests for the comfort of all concerned.
